Get a Business License

To open a business within Lake City, the first step is to complete the Code Clearance Form. Once this form is complete and all parties have approved your new business, you must complete the Business License Application.  If you need assistance with this process, please contact our Finance Department Business License and Revenue Clerk at (843) 374-5421 ext 209.  

Business License Application

Complete the Business License Application for doing business in Lake City and return it to the Finance Office in the administration building, 202 Kelley Street.

Special Events Permit Application

Vendors participating in special events hosted by the city can complete the Special Events Permit Application (City Sponsored) for temporary business in Lake City and return it to the Finance Office in the administration building, 202 Kelley Street. 

Vendors participating in special events that are not hosted by the city can complete the Special Events Permit Application (Non-City Sponsored).

Get a Solicitation Permit for a Charity

Solicitation for a charitable cause requires Lake City to obtain specific information regarding the solicitation. Based on the information provided, the mayor and city administrator will consider the application.  Please call with any question(s) or assistance with this process at (843) 374-5421 ask for the city clerk at ext 103.

Building Permit

Homeowners or contractors can apply for a building permit in person at the finance department or online through CommunityCore (this link takes you out of the city website).
